NOT FOR PROFIT COFFEE SHOP THAT AIMS TO MAKE CHANGE IN THEIR COMMUNITY, ONE CUP OF COFFEE AT A TIME.
The House Cafe is a small coffee shop located in Ogden, KS. Their mission seeks to put back profit into their community through selling teas, pastries, and coffee. The House Cafes goals are to empower youth in the community – but they needed a website where persons could learn about their mission, volunteer, and donate.
Along with a website, they wanted their message portrayed in a video about how the House Cafe started, and where the inspiration came from. Along with telling their story, it emphasized the future goals of the House Cafe, and the expansion of a teen center.
WHAT THEY NEEDED.
- New Custom Website
- Testimonial Video
- Continued Website Management & SEO
- New Logo
THEIR MESSAGE, LOUD AND CLEAR.
Our first step in helping The House Cafe was to getting to know the owner, Chris. Chris was the founder and the more we got to know Chris, the more we understand what the House Cafe was all about. Through growing relationships, we converted that understanding into videos, photography, and finally a website. Chris’ message was loud and clear, we just needed to deliver it in a new way.
WHERE DO WE START?
THROUGH THE LENS.
Before website design and development even began, we needed to capture The House Cafe in the moment – the quiet moments, and the moments where there were no seats open. We took photos and videos of the trivia nights, and times when the teens were there to volunteer. And then, the times when the teens were there just to hang out and be there. These videos and photos helped guide the direction we took the website, and eventually the testimony from Chris.
TESTIMONY & WEBSITE LAUNCH
With the new website deployed, this opened the door for people to read about The House Cafe, and options to sign up to volunteer, donate, or learn more about Chris and his non-profit business. Users are able to see event dates, social media, and more. Most importantly they get an understanding of it’s non-profit goals and expansion into something more.
Next, the testimony video. This video was so important to us – we wanted to do the best we could do capture Chris’ message, and deliver that message with a video that inspired and touched others. This Testimony was so important to get right – it was everything The House Cafe is supposed to be about.
KEEPING OUR RELATIONSHIP
With the Website and Video delivered – we knew that even though the work was done, our relationship with The House Cafe was not. It’s a Coffee Shop that is special to us, so any opportunity to help them grow is one we won’t think twice about accepting.
We continued (and still do to this day) to manage the websites SEO and back-end infrastructure. We want to see The House Cafe succeed and grow, and provide a service in the best way we know how.
