Lets Build a Website

Tanganyika Wildlife Park

A wildly different website experience.

OVERVIEW

The Challenge

Tanganyika Wildlife Park is more than just a zoo — it’s an immersive, conservation-driven experience that connects people with endangered and exotic animals in unforgettable ways. Their previous website didn’t reflect that energy or support their growing list of offerings. We were tasked with a full redesign and rebuild of their site, spanning 75+ custom-designed pages and over 200 blog posts. The project required deep integration of ticketing, memberships, and interactive experiences like animal meet-and-greets. From storytelling to booking, the site needed to function seamlessly for park visitors, volunteers, and conservation supporters alike.

01. Plan

How We Defined the End-User Experience

We kicked off with in-depth strategy sessions to understand how different audiences — day visitors, families, volunteers, donors, and educators — used the site. We mapped the full set of user journeys across ticket purchasing, membership sign-up, event registration, and learning about the park’s conservation mission. We also reviewed the existing blog archive to plan for a smooth migration and better discoverability. From this foundation, we created a content structure and sitemap that balanced education, engagement, and conversion.

02. Design

Custom Designs & UI/UX Experiences

Our design approach was built around joy, wonder, and movement — the same feelings visitors experience at the park. We created a lively, immersive design system using bright colors, playful layouts, and custom animations, including Lottie integrations throughout key interactions. Each of the 75+ pages was custom designed to guide users toward action: purchasing tickets, exploring animals, booking a private event, or supporting the foundation. The UI remained accessible and intuitive, ensuring users of all ages could navigate with ease across devices.

03. Development

Custom Built and Responsive on All Devices

This was a large-scale custom WordPress build designed for performance, scalability, and storytelling. We built custom post types and templates for blog content, events, meet-and-greets, animals, and memberships. The backend allows the Tanganyika team to easily update ticketing info, create new experiences, and publish educational blog content. We also rolled out a custom header, footer, and mobile menu optimized for conversion paths and ease of navigation. The development included performance tuning and SEO best practices to support the park’s growing digital footprint.

04. Launch

A New Website Experience

We managed a seamless site migration and launch, transferring more than 200 blog posts and implementing proper redirects to preserve SEO value. We connected the site to Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and implemented ReCaptcha v3 for form security. SSL encryption and mobile responsiveness were finalized and tested thoroughly. The new Tanganyika Wildlife Park site now captures the magic of the in-person experience — while making it easier than ever to plan a visit, support conservation, or join the mission.
