OVERVIEW
The Challenge
Brooklyn’s Bites came to us with a clean slate — no existing website, just a big vision: to build a modern, recipe-driven platform from the ground up. The goal was to create a fast, elegant, and content-rich site that could host a growing library of recipes, support a lifestyle blog, and include an integrated shop for curated kitchen tools. With over 10 custom-designed pages and 75+ recipe posts at launch, we were tasked with designing a scalable content system, implementing a polished user experience, and giving the Brooklyn’s Bites brand a beautiful online home.

I had the BEST experience working with Charlie and his team at TwoFold. They built my website in a way that was truly authentic to me and my brand. I get compliments all of the time about how functional and unique my website is, and I credit that all to their work and attention to detail. Not only did my website turn out better than I imagined, but working with their team was such a pleasure.

01. Plan
How We Defined the End-User Experience
We began by analyzing the food content landscape to see what made top-tier recipe sites engaging, easy to use, and visually appealing. We worked closely with the Brooklyn’s Bites team to define tone, visual style, and functional needs — including recipe filtering, seasonal categorization, and seamless integration of blog, shop, and post content. From there, we developed a content strategy that would make it simple for users to discover quick weeknight dinners, elaborate dinner party menus, or baking inspiration with just a few clicks.
02. Design
Custom Designs & UI/UX Experiences
The design of Brooklyn’s Bites needed to feel modern, inviting, and editorial — with photography at the forefront. We designed each page from scratch, including homepage, category hubs, recipe pages, shopping features, and blog layouts. The UI emphasized clarity and elegance, with thoughtful whitespace, easy-to-scan typography, and mobile-first layouts. The recipe format was custom-designed to be both visually beautiful and highly usable — complete with ingredients, steps, timers, and optional notes.
03. Development
Custom Built and Responsive on All Devices
We developed the site on WordPress with a fully custom theme and back-end tailored to the Brooklyn’s Bites content model. A custom post type was built specifically for recipes, including structured data for SEO, fields for prep/cook times, dietary tags, and optional tips. We also implemented a flexible blog system and an integrated e-commerce shop featuring affiliate baking and cookware products. Custom header, footer, and mobile menu components ensured a smooth and consistent experience across every page and screen size.
04. Launch
A New Website Experience
When launch day came, we handled everything — from DNS changes to analytics setup and form protection. We connected the site to Google Analytics 4 and Search Console, implemented ReCaptcha v3, activated SSL certificates, and ensured every recipe and product link was working flawlessly. With a lightning-fast site, fully indexed content, and a scalable content engine, Brooklyn’s Bites is now positioned as a go-to destination for home cooks and food lovers everywhere.
