The Challenge
Outpost Boots is a premium western wear brand offering high-end cowboy boots, hats, and apparel. With a growing fan base and bold visual identity, they needed an ecommerce site that elevated their products and made every visitor feel like they just stepped into a modern outpost. We were brought in to design and build a Shopify storefront spanning 30+ custom pages, each tailored to tell the story of craftsmanship, quality, and lifestyle. The goal was to combine striking aesthetics with intuitive shopping functionality — all while staying true to the grit and style of the western spirit.

We were looking for someone to help us with our website for our retail store, Outpost Western Store, and were referred to Twofold by a friend/other business. It was one of the best decisions we made going with Twofold Media. They were able to build us a new website through Shopify, boost our SEO and fully handle our online advertising. Charlie and Dennis are extremely patient (we are not the most tech savvy), they are excellent problem solvers and our very responsive. 01. Plan
How We Defined the End-User Experience
We kicked off with deep research into Outpost’s ideal customers — style-conscious wearers of western boots, ranch-ready gear, and Americana-inspired apparel. We reviewed leading fashion and western ecommerce sites to identify UX standards, product page expectations, and opportunities to differentiate. From there, we mapped user flows around discovery, education, and purchase — focusing on how to showcase boots, communicate sizing and fit, and drive conversion through storytelling and design.
02. Design
Custom Designs & UI/UX Experiences
The design system was created to feel rugged yet refined — a true reflection of the Outpost brand. Every page, from homepage to product to about, was designed individually for purpose and aesthetic cohesion. We leaned into large, editorial-style visuals, textured accents, and bold typography to evoke quality and authenticity. Product pages were carefully designed to emphasize details, craftsmanship, and heritage, while the navigation and filtering system ensured that users could find what they wanted quickly across categories and collections.
03. Development
Custom Built and Responsive on All Devices
We custom-built the site on Shopify, using flexible sections and templates to support storytelling, conversion, and long-term scalability. We implemented a custom header, footer, and mobile menu for seamless navigation across devices. Product pages were built to support detailed specifications, variant logic, and high-quality imagery. Shopify’s CMS was configured to allow the Outpost team full control over product updates, promotions, and content, while performance and speed were optimized throughout the build.
04. Launch
A New Website Experience
The site launched with full ecommerce functionality, mobile optimization, and integrated analytics (GA4, Search Console) for tracking performance and conversions. SSL encryption and ReCaptcha v3 were implemented to ensure security across the site. From boots to hats, Outpost Boots now has a premium digital storefront to match the craftsmanship of its products — ready to serve western lifestyle customers from the first click to final checkout.
